Hi There! I’m MaraLee.

I opened my landscape architectural design studio in 2014. Since then, it’s been thriving! Prior to opening, I worked for 11 years in the award-winning landscape architectural firm, ZDA, inc.

I helped establish the Hamer Center For Community Design at Penn State. And, I’ve taught open space design in the Department of Landscape Architecture at UW-Madison.

I’m honored to do speaking engagements with arts groups and other professional organizations.

There’s a special place in my heart for Women-Owned and Black-Owned businesses. I make a point to support them as much as possible, and I encourage you to do so as well.

Here’s where you can get started.

Let’s get Personal

-believe-

I believe that you don’t have to accept the ‘status quo’ if you don’t want to. If you want architecture, you should have great architecture. And having great architecture is truly a feat that has design at its essence, not expense.

-help-

I help families ‘make room for love’ by planning the visual intake, flow, and move-through feel of their favorite outdoor spaces. I’ll show you what’s possible and how it can evolve over time with your future needs.

-design-

I rarely use ‘designspeak’, and I have a reputation of bringing my calmness and wit to even the most intense or complex situations. It’s a truly joyous event for me to design beautiful outdoor spaces that help people of all ages feel good.

“Good design must consider everything. What will you do in the space? How will your body move and your soul feel? How do you want the wind, water, energy, or colors to flow through the area? The sight, scent, sound, and feelings that are important to you should be done purposefully, by design.”

The best way to know what it’s like to work with me is to read what my clients have to say.
